Georgian Post is a national postal service in Georgia. The history of the georgian post starts when Georgia became a part of the Russian Empire. In 1805 the first post office was opened in Tbilisi. Starting from 1922 there was a national USSR postal service working at the territory of Georgia. When Georgia left USSR in 1991 - it have created their own postal service and became a member of Universal Postal Union in 1993.
Georgian Post accepts to deliver letter, packages (up to 30 kg), delivered cargo within the country. Express mail service EMS is also available. International deliveries are carried about by air transport.
